Botox and fillers in Gurgaon

Softening expression lines and restoring lost volume, planned and injected by dermatologist Dr. Tanya Kochhar. Doses are kept conservative and built up gradually, so you look rested and like yourself.

Quick answer

What do Botox and fillers treat, and how long do they last?

Botox (botulinum toxin) relaxes specific muscles to soften lines that form with expression, and typically lasts 3 to 4 months. Hyaluronic acid fillers restore volume to hollows and folds seen at rest, last roughly 6 to 18 months and can be dissolved if needed. At Le Dermaire, Dr. Tanya Kochhar injects both conservatively, with a review at about two weeks.

What they do

Two treatments, two different jobs

Botox is the familiar name for botulinum toxin, a purified protein that temporarily relaxes the muscles it is injected into. Botulinum toxin treats dynamic wrinkles, the lines that form when you frown, raise your eyebrows or smile, by reducing the movement that creates them.

Dermal fillers are gels, most commonly made of hyaluronic acid, a substance found naturally in the skin. They treat volume loss and static folds, the hollows and lines that remain when the face is at rest, by restoring support beneath the skin. Many people benefit from one, some from both, and some from neither.

Botulinum toxin does not fill, and fillers do not stop movement. Knowing which is behind a line is the first decision in any plan, and it is made at the consultation.

Where they are used

Areas commonly treated

Treatment is tailored to your face. These are the areas most often discussed.

Frown & forehead lines

Vertical lines between the brows and horizontal forehead lines, treated with botulinum toxin while keeping natural expression.

Crow's feet

Lines at the outer corners of the eyes that deepen when smiling. Small doses of toxin soften them.

Lips

Lip filler adds definition, hydration or subtle volume, and can balance asymmetry. Proportion matters more than size.

Under-eyes

Under-eye filler softens a tear trough hollow that casts a shadow, where the anatomy is suitable.

Cheeks & smile lines

Filler in the mid-face restores lost support, which can also soften the folds running from the nose to the mouth.

Jawline & chin

Jawline contouring and chin filler improve definition and balance the lower face.

Duration

How long Botox and fillers last, area by area

Botulinum toxin

  • Frown lines, forehead lines and crow's feet: typically 3 to 4 months.
  • Effect starts in 2 to 5 days and reaches its full result by about 2 weeks.
  • With regular treatment, some people find the interval lengthens a little.
  • Underarm sweating: relief usually lasts several months, often longer than on the face.
  • Faster wear-off is more likely with very active muscles and intense exercise.

Hyaluronic acid fillers

  • Lips: often around 6 to 12 months, as they move constantly.
  • Cheeks, chin and jawline: often 12 to 18 months with thicker fillers.
  • Under-eyes: can last a year or more, because the area moves little.
  • Smile lines: roughly 6 to 12 months.
  • Duration depends on the product, the amount, your metabolism and sun exposure.
Side by side

Botox or fillers: which one do I need?

The choice follows the line or hollow being treated: one reduces movement, the other restores support.

Common worries

Botox and fillers: myths and facts

Most hesitation about injectables comes from things heard second-hand. These are the questions asked most often at consultation.

“Botox is a poison”

Botulinum toxin is a purified, prescription medicine used in tiny, measured doses. It has been used in medicine for decades, including for eye muscle problems, migraine and excessive sweating, and has a well-studied safety record.

“Once you start, you cannot stop”

You can stop at any time. When toxin wears off, the muscle works as before and lines return to how they would have been. They do not become worse because you had treatment.

“It will freeze my face”

A frozen look comes from too much toxin in the wrong places. Measured doses soften lines while keeping expression, and starting low with a review at two weeks avoids overdoing it.

“Fillers stretch the skin”

Filler placed in sensible amounts restores what has been lost and gradually breaks down. Overfilling repeatedly is what causes problems, which is why conservative top-ups are preferred.

“Anyone can inject”

Toxin and fillers are prescription treatments. Safe injecting needs knowledge of facial muscles and blood vessels and the ability to recognise and treat a complication at once.

“Fillers are permanent”

Hyaluronic acid fillers are temporary and can be dissolved. Permanent fillers carry a higher risk of long-term lumps and are not used at Le Dermaire.

Beyond wrinkles

Medical uses of botulinum toxin

Botulinum toxin is a medical treatment first. In dermatology its main medical use is for excessive sweating, or hyperhidrosis: injected into the underarm skin, it blocks the nerve signals that switch sweat glands on, and the relief usually lasts several months before a repeat is needed.

That same effect explains why the cosmetic results are temporary. The toxin does not damage the muscle or nerve. Over a few months the nerve endings grow new connections and movement returns, which is why treatment is repeated at intervals rather than done once.

Whether a request is medical or cosmetic, the assessment is the same: what is causing the problem, whether toxin is the right tool, and how to dose it so the result looks and feels natural.

At Le Dermaire

How treatment works

Four stages. You can take the plan away and think about it; nothing is injected on the day unless you are ready.

1

Consultation

Dr. Tanya assesses your face at rest and in movement, discusses what you would like to change, and reviews medical history, medicines, allergies and any previous injections.

2

Plan & consent

You get a clear plan of what is suggested and why, the expected result and how long it lasts, the risks, and a written quote, before signing consent.

3

Treatment

The skin is cleaned and numbed where needed. Injections are placed precisely using facial anatomy, starting conservatively.

4

Review

A review at about two weeks checks the result. Small adjustments are made then, rather than over-treating on the first visit.

Pricing

Botox & fillers cost in Gurgaon

The cost of Botox depends on the number of areas and the units of toxin needed. Filler cost depends on the area, the type of filler and how much is needed, usually measured in syringes. You receive a written quote after the consultation, before any injection.

Why the price per unit is not the whole story

The product, how it is stored and diluted, and the skill of the person injecting all affect the result and your safety. A lower price can mean an unregulated product or an injector who cannot manage a complication. It is worth asking who will inject you and what product will be used.

Safety

Are Botox and fillers safe?

In trained hands, botulinum toxin and hyaluronic acid fillers are well-established, low-risk treatments. Common, temporary effects include small bruises, swelling, tenderness and redness at injection points, which settle within days. With toxin, a mild headache or slight asymmetry can occur and may be corrected at the review. Rarely, toxin can cause a temporarily drooping brow or eyelid, which wears off.

With fillers, lumps or unevenness can occur and are usually managed with massage or dissolving. The most serious risk, which is rare, is filler blocking a blood vessel, which can damage skin or, very rarely, affect vision. This is why fillers should be injected only by a medically trained doctor who knows the facial anatomy, recognises the warning signs and can act at once. Hyaluronic acid filler can be dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase.

Botox and fillers are not given during pregnancy or breastfeeding, over active skin infection, or to people with certain neuromuscular conditions. Tell the clinic about all medicines, including blood thinners, and any history of cold sores if you are having lip filler.

Before you book

How to choose who injects your Botox and fillers

The product matters, but the person matters more. Ask who will examine you and who will actually inject, and what their medical qualification is. A doctor who injects regularly knows where the muscles, blood vessels and fat pads lie, and can adjust the plan when your anatomy differs from the textbook.

Ask to see the sealed product and its batch number before it is opened, and which filler is being used. Registered hyaluronic acid fillers and botulinum toxin products are imported, cold-stored and traceable; unregistered or diluted products are a common cause of poor results and complications.

Finally, ask what happens if something goes wrong. A safe clinic keeps hyaluronidase for dissolving filler, has a plan for the rare vascular complication, and offers a review so that asymmetry or under-correction can be adjusted. A low price that leaves out any of these is not a saving.

Preparation and aftercare

Why a dermatologist

Injectables given by a dermatologist

Botulinum toxin and fillers are prescription medical treatments, and a good result depends on anatomy as much as aesthetics. A dermatologist understands where muscles, vessels and fat pads lie, can tell when a concern is better treated with skin care or laser than injection, and is trained to recognise and manage complications, including dissolving filler urgently if needed.

Dr. Tanya Kochhar holds an MBBS from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, an MD in Dermatology, Venereology and Leprosy from MGM Medical College, a DNB, and a post-doctoral fellowship in Aesthetic Dermatology (FRGUHS). She is registered with the National Medical Commission and the Delhi Medical Council.

Common questions

Botox and fillers FAQs

What is the difference between Botox and fillers?

Botox, or botulinum toxin, relaxes specific muscles to soften lines caused by movement, such as frown lines, forehead lines and crow's feet. Fillers, usually hyaluronic acid, add volume to treat hollows and folds seen at rest, such as under-eye hollows, thin lips or flat cheeks. They solve different problems and are sometimes combined.

How long do Botox and fillers last?

Botulinum toxin typically lasts 3 to 4 months, sometimes longer with regular treatment. Hyaluronic acid fillers last roughly 6 to 18 months, depending on the area, the product and your metabolism. Lips tend to wear off sooner, while under-eye and cheek filler often last longer. Neither is permanent.

How much do Botox and fillers cost in Gurgaon?

At Le Dermaire the cost depends on the areas treated, the amount of product needed and the type of filler. It is quoted in writing after the consultation, before any injection. The consultation fee is Rs 1,800, and there are no charges that have not been quoted to you first.

Will I look frozen or unnatural?

Not with a conservative approach. Dr. Tanya uses measured doses of toxin to soften lines while keeping expression, and places filler to restore rather than exaggerate. Treatment starts on the lighter side and is reviewed at two weeks, so more can be added if needed. Natural-looking results are the aim.

Do Botox and filler injections hurt?

Most people find them quite tolerable. Toxin is given through a very fine needle and feels like brief pinpricks. For filler, a numbing cream is applied and most fillers also contain a local anaesthetic. The lips are more sensitive than other areas, and any discomfort usually passes quickly.

What are the side effects of fillers?

Bruising, swelling, tenderness and redness are common and settle within days. Lumps or asymmetry can occur and are usually correctable. Rarely, filler can block a blood vessel, which needs urgent treatment. This is why a medically trained injector matters. Hyaluronic acid filler can be dissolved with hyaluronidase if a problem arises.

Can fillers be reversed?

Hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase, injected by a doctor. The filler usually breaks down within a day or two. This is used for lumps, unwanted results and, urgently, if filler blocks a blood vessel. It is one reason hyaluronic acid fillers are generally preferred for the face.

What happens when Botox wears off?

The muscle gradually regains its movement over a few weeks, and lines return to how they would have looked without treatment. They do not become deeper because you had Botox. Many people repeat treatment every three to four months, but stopping is safe at any time.

What is the right age to start Botox?

There is no set age. Toxin is considered when expression lines are visible and bothering you, which for many people is in the late twenties to thirties, especially for strong frown lines. It is not given to prevent lines that have not started. Sunscreen and good skin care matter at every age.

Can I go back to work after Botox or fillers?

Usually yes, the same day. Small injection marks fade within hours. After filler, especially in the lips or under the eyes, swelling or a bruise can last a few days, so plan important events at least two weeks after treatment. Avoid heavy exercise and saunas for 24 hours.

Is Botox safe long term?

Botulinum toxin has been used medically for decades, and repeated cosmetic treatment in standard doses is considered safe in healthy adults. Side effects are generally mild and temporary. It is avoided in pregnancy, breastfeeding and certain neuromuscular conditions, which is why a medical history is taken before every first treatment.
