Skin boosters in Gurgaon
Fine injections of hyaluronic acid placed just under the surface to hydrate the skin from within and refine its texture. Planned and performed by dermatologist Dr. Tanya Kochhar, starting with an assessment of whether a booster is the right tool for your skin.
What are skin boosters and how many sessions are needed?
Skin boosters are fine injections of hyaluronic acid placed just under the surface to hydrate the skin and refine its texture. At Le Dermaire, an initial course is usually 2 to 3 sessions, 3 to 4 weeks apart, each taking 30 to 45 minutes. Skin looks more hydrated over 2 to 4 weeks, and maintenance follows every few months.
Skin boosters, in short
Typical figures for a course. Your own plan depends on the area treated, your skin's condition and the product chosen for it.
What a skin booster is, and is not
A skin booster is a thin, spreadable hyaluronic acid gel injected in tiny amounts across an area, just beneath the surface of the skin. Hyaluronic acid holds water, so the aim is to improve hydration, elasticity and the fine, crêpe-like texture that comes with dryness, sun exposure and age.
It is not a filler. Fillers are denser gels placed deeper to restore volume, lift cheeks or shape lips. A booster adds no shape and no lift. It changes how the skin looks and feels, not the contours underneath it, and the result is subtle: skin that looks smoother, more even and better rested.
If your main concern is hollowness, sagging or deep folds, a booster alone will disappoint. Dr. Tanya will tell you at consultation which concern a booster can help and which needs a different approach.
Who skin boosters suit
Boosters suit people whose skin looks dehydrated, dull or finely lined despite a sound skincare routine, and those starting to notice crêpey texture on the neck, under the eyes or on the backs of the hands. They are often chosen in the late twenties to forties as an early, low-key step, but age matters less than the state of the skin.
In Gurgaon, dry winter air, air conditioning, pollution and strong sun all take a toll on the skin barrier. A booster can help the skin hold moisture, but it works best alongside daily sunscreen and a moisturiser, not instead of them.
Boosters are not a treatment for active acne, pigmentation or melasma, and they are usually postponed during pregnancy and breastfeeding, over any active infection, and in people with certain autoimmune or bleeding conditions.
Skin boosters compared with similar treatments
Several injectable and needle-based treatments aim at skin quality. They work differently, and are sometimes combined.
Skin boosters
Hyaluronic acid placed superficially for hydration and fine texture. Predictable, gradual results with a short course and periodic maintenance.
Dermal fillers
Denser gels placed deeper to restore volume and structure, such as in the cheeks, lips or under-eye hollows. They change shape; boosters do not.
PRP and the vampire facial
Uses platelets from your own blood to support collagen and glow. Suited to people who prefer an autologous option; results vary more between individuals.
Mesotherapy and microneedling
Mesotherapy delivers a tailored mix of actives into the skin; microneedling triggers collagen through controlled micro-injuries. Both are used for texture, pores and glow.
How treatment works
Four stages. You decide whether to go ahead once you have the plan and the quote.
Consultation
Dr. Tanya examines your skin, asks about medication, allergies and previous injectables, and explains whether a booster, a filler or another treatment fits your concern.
Preparation
The skin is cleansed and a numbing cream applied. Photographs may be taken with your consent so progress can be compared fairly at review.
Injection
The gel is placed with a fine needle in tiny, evenly spaced points, or with a blunt cannula in some areas. Most sessions take under an hour including numbing time.
Review and maintenance
The skin is reviewed before the next session. After the initial course, maintenance is planned around how long your results last.
Skin boosters cost in Gurgaon
The cost depends on the area treated, the amount of product needed and the number of sessions in your course. You receive a written quote after the consultation, before any treatment is booked.
Ask what is being injected
Hyaluronic acid products differ, and unregistered or diluted products are a real concern in the market. You are entitled to know exactly which product is used, to see the sealed pack opened, and to be told who is injecting it. A lower price is no saving if the product cannot be traced.
Are skin boosters safe?
Performed by a trained doctor with a registered product, skin boosters are a low-risk treatment. Small raised bumps at the injection points are expected and usually flatten within a day or two. Redness, mild swelling and tenderness settle over a similar period.
Bruising is the most common nuisance, particularly under the eyes and on the neck, and can take up to a week or so to fade. Less commonly, small lumps can be felt for longer and may need gentle massage or review. Infection, allergic reactions and blood vessel complications are rare, and are the reason these injections belong in a medical setting where they can be recognised and treated promptly.
Tell the clinic if you take blood thinners, have a history of cold sores, keloids or autoimmune disease, or have had fillers or threads in the same area.
Before and after your session
Before
- If your doctor agrees, pause aspirin, fish oil, vitamin E and similar supplements for a few days to reduce bruising.
- Avoid alcohol the evening before.
- Arrive without makeup on the area to be treated.
- Avoid scheduling within a week or so of an important event, in case of bruising.
After
- Do not apply makeup or touch the area for the rest of the day.
- Skip saunas, steam, facials and strenuous exercise for 24 hours.
- Avoid pressing or massaging the area unless you have been asked to.
- Use sunscreen daily and contact the clinic if you notice increasing pain, colour change or a spreading rash.
Injections planned by a skin specialist
Skin quality problems often have more than one cause. A dermatologist can tell dehydration from sun damage, pigmentation or an underlying skin condition, can advise when a booster will not help and something else will, and knows facial anatomy well enough to inject safely and to manage a complication if one arises.

Skin booster FAQs
What is the difference between a skin booster and a filler?
Both usually contain hyaluronic acid, but they are made and used differently. A filler is a denser gel placed deeper to add volume or lift, for example in the cheeks or lips. A skin booster is a thin gel spread superficially across an area to improve hydration and fine texture. A booster does not change the shape of the face.
How many skin booster sessions will I need?
Most people have an initial course of two to three sessions, spaced about three to four weeks apart. The exact number depends on the product, the area and the condition of the skin. After that, maintenance sessions every few months help keep the result, because hyaluronic acid is gradually broken down by the body.
How much do skin boosters cost in Gurgaon?
At Le Dermaire the cost depends on the area treated, the product needed and the number of sessions, and is quoted in writing after the consultation. The consultation fee is Rs 1,800. There are no charges that are not quoted to you first, and nothing is injected until you have agreed to the plan.
How long do skin booster results last?
Results build over the two to four weeks after each session and typically last several months after a full course, though this varies with age, skin type, sun exposure and lifestyle. The effect fades gradually rather than stopping suddenly, which is why maintenance sessions are usually planned.
Do skin booster injections hurt?
A numbing cream is applied first, so most people describe the treatment as a series of small pricks rather than pain. Some areas, such as around the mouth and under the eyes, feel more sensitive. The skin may feel tender for a day or so afterwards.
What are the side effects of skin boosters?
Small bumps at the injection points, redness, mild swelling and bruising are common and usually settle within a few days, though bruises can take about a week. Lumps that persist, infection and allergic reactions are uncommon. Serious complications are rare when a registered product is injected by a trained doctor.
Can skin boosters be used under the eyes and on the neck?
Yes, both are common areas for boosters, along with the backs of the hands. The under-eye skin is thin and bruises easily, so technique and product choice matter. If under-eye darkness is caused by pigmentation or hollowing rather than dryness, a different treatment may be more useful, and this is assessed at consultation.
