Chemical peels in Gurgaon
Medical-grade peels for acne, pigmentation, texture and dull skin, chosen and applied under the supervision of dermatologist Dr. Tanya Kochhar. The peel, its strength and the timing are matched to your concern and your skin type.
How many chemical peel sessions are needed in Gurgaon?
Most concerns need a course of 4 to 6 superficial peels, spaced 2 to 4 weeks apart, with occasional maintenance peels afterwards. At Le Dermaire, peels for acne, pigmentation, texture and dull skin are chosen and supervised by Dr. Tanya Kochhar. Sessions take 30 to 45 minutes, and downtime ranges from none to several days of flaking.
Chemical peels, in short
Typical figures for a course of superficial peels. Your plan depends on your concern, the peel chosen and how your skin responds.
How a chemical peel works
A chemical peel applies an acid to the skin for a controlled time. It loosens the bonds between dead skin cells so they shed evenly, and deeper-acting peels also encourage new collagen and break up clusters of pigment. The fresh skin underneath looks smoother, clearer and more even in tone.
Peels are graded by depth. Superficial peels, such as glycolic, lactic and most party peels, work on the outer layer with little or no downtime. Medium-depth peels reach further, give stronger results and need longer healing. For Indian skin, superficial peels repeated as a course are usually preferred, because deeper peels carry a much higher risk of pigmentation.
A peel is not a facial. It is a medical procedure with a real effect on the skin, and the wrong strength on the wrong skin can cause burns and dark patches that take months to correct.
Peels offered at Le Dermaire
Each peel acts differently. The choice depends on your concern, skin type and how much downtime you can take.
Glycolic acid peel
A small alpha hydroxy acid that penetrates evenly. Used for dullness, fine lines, uneven tone and mild acne, with strength increased gradually over the course.
Lactic acid peel
A gentler, hydrating alpha hydroxy acid, well suited to sensitive or dry skin and first-time peels. Brightens and smooths with minimal irritation.
Yellow peel
A retinoic acid based peel left on the skin for some hours, then washed off at home. Used for pigmentation, melasma support and rejuvenation, with visible flaking over several days.
Party peel
A light peel designed for a quick glow with little or no visible peeling, suitable a few days before an event. A refresh, not a treatment for stubborn concerns.
Segmental peels
Different peels applied to different parts of the face in one session, for example one for pigmented cheeks and another for an oily, congested T-zone.
What chemical peels can help
Acne
Peels reduce oiliness, clear blocked pores and calm breakouts. They work best alongside a prescription routine, not in place of one.
Pigmentation
Tan, uneven tone, post-acne marks and, as part of a wider plan, melasma. Priming and sun protection are essential for lasting results.
Acne scars
Superficial peels improve texture and the marks around scars. Deeper scars need procedures such as subcision, MNRF or laser.
Rejuvenation
Dull skin, fine lines, open pores and rough texture, with a gradual improvement in brightness and smoothness over a course.
How treatment works
Peels are planned as a short course, with your skin prepared before the first one.
Consultation
Dr. Tanya examines your skin, identifies the concern and checks for anything that rules a peel out, such as active infection, recent isotretinoin or very sensitive skin. You get a plan and a quote.
Priming
A prescribed home routine for 2 to 4 weeks prepares the skin, helps the peel penetrate evenly and lowers the risk of dark patches afterwards.
Peel session
The skin is cleansed, sensitive areas protected, and the peel applied and timed. It is neutralised or removed, and soothing care and sunscreen applied.
Course and maintenance
Peels are repeated every 2 to 4 weeks, with strength adjusted to your response. Occasional maintenance peels keep results going.
Chemical peel cost in Gurgaon
The cost depends on the peel chosen, the area treated and the number of sessions in your course. You receive a written quote after the consultation, before any peel is booked.
The peel matters less than the plan
A peel on unprepared skin, followed by sun exposure, can leave darker patches than you started with, especially on Indian skin. Priming, the right strength and consistent aftercare are what make a course of peels safe and worth paying for.
Are chemical peels safe for Indian skin?
Superficial peels chosen and applied by a dermatologist are a safe and well-established treatment for most skin types. Tingling, redness and light flaking are expected. Most people return to normal routines the same day or within a few days.
The main risk in Indian skin is post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation: dark patches after the skin has been irritated. Other risks include prolonged redness, crusting, cold sore flares and, with deeper peels, burns or scarring. Priming, careful timing, patch testing where appropriate and daily sunscreen reduce these risks considerably.
Peels are usually postponed during pregnancy (especially retinoid-based peels), over active infection, cold sores or broken skin, and for several months after isotretinoin. Tell the clinic about any waxing, threading or prescription creams used on the area.
Before and after your peel
Before
- Follow your priming routine for 2 to 4 weeks as prescribed.
- Stop retinoids, scrubs and exfoliating acids a few days before the peel.
- Avoid waxing, threading and facial hair removal on the area for a week.
- Stay out of the sun and avoid tanning in the week before.
After
- Use a gentle cleanser and plain moisturiser until the skin settles.
- Apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen every day and reapply outdoors.
- Let peeling skin shed on its own; do not pick or scrub it off.
- Avoid saunas, swimming and heavy workouts for 48 hours.
Peels chosen by a skin specialist
Choosing a peel means reading the skin: its type, how reactive it is, and whether the concern is surface pigment, deeper melasma, active acne or scarring. A dermatologist can decide when a peel is the right tool and when it is not, adjust strength safely from session to session, and manage irritation or darkening promptly if it occurs.

Chemical peel FAQs
How many chemical peel sessions will I need?
Most concerns need a course of four to six superficial peels, spaced two to four weeks apart, with results building gradually. Pigmentation and acne often need a full course plus occasional maintenance peels. Stronger peels are spaced further apart. Your plan is set at consultation and adjusted as your skin responds.
How much does a chemical peel cost in Gurgaon?
At Le Dermaire the cost depends on the peel chosen, the area treated and the number of sessions in your course, and is quoted in writing after the consultation. The consultation fee is Rs 1,800. There are no charges that are not quoted to you first.
Is there downtime after a chemical peel?
Light glycolic, lactic and party peels usually have no downtime, with mild redness for a few hours. Yellow peels and stronger peels cause visible flaking or peeling for three to seven days. Most people plan stronger peels before a weekend or quieter week and avoid them just before an important event.
Are chemical peels safe for dark or Indian skin?
Yes, when the peel and strength are matched to the skin and the skin is primed. Darker skin reacts to irritation by producing pigment, so superficial peels in a course are generally preferred to deep peels. Daily sunscreen during and after the course is essential to prevent dark patches.
Can a chemical peel remove pigmentation permanently?
Peels can fade tan, sun spots and post-acne marks well, but no peel guarantees permanent results. Sun exposure, hormones and heat can bring pigmentation back, particularly melasma. Sun protection and a maintenance routine are what keep results, and melasma usually needs a combination plan rather than peels alone.
Which peel is best for acne?
There is no single best peel. Oil-soluble and glycolic peels suit oily, congested skin, while lactic peels suit sensitive skin. Segmental peels allow different peels on different areas. The choice depends on your acne type and skin, and peels work best alongside prescription treatment rather than on their own.
Can I get a chemical peel before a wedding or event?
A light party peel a few days before an event can give a fresh glow with little visible peeling. Stronger peels are best started six to eight weeks ahead so any flaking or redness has settled. Trying a new peel for the first time just before a major event is not advised.
