Vampire facial (PRP facial) in Gurgaon
Platelet-rich plasma from a small sample of your own blood, delivered into the skin by microneedling or fine injections to support texture, fine lines and glow. Planned and performed under dermatologist Dr. Tanya Kochhar, with an honest view of what it can do.
What is a vampire facial and what can it do?
A vampire facial, or PRP facial, uses platelet-rich plasma from a small sample of your own blood, worked into the skin by microneedling or fine injections. It suits texture, fine lines and dullness, not deep folds or sagging. At Le Dermaire, a course is often 3 sessions about 4 weeks apart, with 1 to 3 days of redness.
PRP facial, in short
Typical figures for a course. Your own plan depends on your skin, your main concern and whether PRP is combined with other treatment.
What is a PRP facial?
Platelets are best known for helping blood clot, but they also carry growth factors that take part in wound healing and tissue repair. Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is a concentrate of your own platelets, made by spinning a small sample of blood in a centrifuge so that the platelets separate from the red cells.
In a PRP facial, that concentrate is worked into the skin. Delivered with microneedling, it is applied to the surface and drawn in through thousands of tiny channels; this combination is what is popularly called the vampire facial. Delivered by injection, it is placed in small amounts just under the skin, often under the eyes or in areas of fine lines. The idea is that the growth factors support collagen renewal and skin repair, alongside the effect of the needling itself.
The result, when it works, is modest and gradual: smoother texture, a little more firmness and a healthier-looking glow. It is not a substitute for fillers, botox or a facelift.
The name “vampire facial” describes the use of your own blood, nothing more. The blood is not painted on and left on the face; it is processed first, and only the platelet-rich plasma is used.
Where PRP for the face can help
Studies on PRP for the skin are mostly small and methods vary, so results are fairly described as promising but modest. These are the areas with the most support.
Texture and glow
Many people notice smoother, more even and brighter skin after a course, particularly when PRP is combined with microneedling. This is where PRP facials are most often used.
Fine lines
Fine crepey lines, such as those on the cheeks and around the eyes, can soften slightly. Deeper expression lines and folds respond far better to botox or fillers.
Under-eye skin
PRP injected under the eyes may improve thin, crepey skin and mild darkness over a course. It does not correct hollows or bags, and dark circles have several causes that are assessed first.
Acne scars, as an add-on
Adding PRP to microneedling or other scar treatments may improve results and help healing in some studies. For acne scars it is an adjunct, not a treatment on its own.
Who a vampire facial suits, and who it does not
The vampire facial is a skin-quality treatment. It suits some concerns well and others hardly at all, which is why the consultation comes first.
Good candidates
Adults with dull, tired-looking skin, rough texture, enlarged pores or early fine lines, who want a gradual improvement using their own blood rather than a manufactured product.
Mild acne scarring
Shallow scars can improve with PRP combined with microneedling. Deeper rolling, boxcar or ice pick scars need subcision, MNRF or laser, with PRP as an add-on.
Not the right tool for
Deep folds, sagging jowls and lost volume, which need fillers or other treatment, and melasma or dark patches, which need a pigment plan first.
Better to wait
Active acne, infection or cold sores, pregnancy and breastfeeding, low platelets or blood disorders, and recent isotretinoin when microneedling is planned.
How a PRP facial is done
One visit covers everything from the blood draw to aftercare advice.
Consultation
Dr. Tanya examines your skin, asks about your concerns, medicines and medical history, and checks that PRP is a sensible choice rather than, for example, a peel, skin booster or filler.
Blood draw and processing
A small amount of blood is drawn from the arm, similar to a routine blood test, and spun in a centrifuge to separate the platelet-rich plasma.
Numbing and delivery
A numbing cream is applied, then the PRP is worked in with microneedling or placed with fine injections, depending on the area and your goal.
Review and course
The skin is calmed and protected before you leave. Further sessions are usually spaced about four weeks apart, and progress is reviewed before each one.
Vampire facial results, week by week
The first days
- Day 1: redness like mild sunburn, tightness and some swelling, more after microneedling.
- Days 2 to 3: redness fades; the skin may feel dry or slightly rough.
- Days 3 to 7: a fresher look as the skin settles; small bruises from injections fade.
- Makeup can usually go back on after 24 hours, and work after a day or two.
Over the course
- Weeks 2 to 4: texture and glow begin to improve as the skin renews.
- After the second and third sessions: smoother skin and softer fine lines become easier to see.
- Three to six months: the full effect of collagen renewal is judged, ideally against photographs.
- Maintenance: some people choose one session every six to twelve months.
How a PRP facial differs from related treatments
Several treatments use your own blood or needles in the skin. They are chosen for different reasons.
PRF (platelet-rich fibrin)
PRF is spun more gently and without an anticoagulant, so it forms a soft fibrin gel that releases growth factors more slowly and also contains white cells. It is often preferred for injection under the eyes and into scars. Which suits you is decided at consultation.

Both are booked for glow, but they work very differently. One is a cleanse and hydration treatment; the other is a needling treatment that aims to renew the skin.
| Vampire facial (PRP) | Hydrafacial | |
|---|---|---|
| How it works | Your own platelet-rich plasma worked in through microneedling or fine injections. | Vortex suction and serums cleanse, extract and hydrate the surface. |
| Best for | Texture, fine lines, dullness and as an add-on for mild acne scars. | Congested, oily, dull or dehydrated skin, and skin before an event. |
| When results show | Gradually over weeks, building across a course. | The same day, lasting about one to two weeks. |
| Sessions | Often 3, about 4 weeks apart, then occasional maintenance. | Every 3 to 6 weeks as maintenance, or once before an event. |
| Downtime | 1 to 3 days of redness and swelling; possible bruising after injections. | None; slight pinkness for up to an hour. |
| Discomfort | Blood draw plus needling under numbing cream. | Comfortable, with no needles. |
| Not suitable for | Active acne or infection, blood disorders, pregnancy, recent isotretinoin. | Active pimples, cold sores, open cuts or sunburnt skin. |
They are not competitors so much as different steps. A Hydrafacial is often used for maintenance between courses of PRP, peels or laser.
Vampire facial cost in Gurgaon
The vampire facial cost depends on how many sessions you need, the areas treated (face only, or face with under-eyes or neck) and whether PRP is delivered with microneedling, injections or both. You receive a written quote for the full course after your consultation, before anything is booked.
Comparing vampire facial prices
A PRP facial is only as good as its preparation: sterile handling, correct processing of the blood and careful delivery at the right depth. A low price sometimes reflects shortcuts at exactly those steps, or a session that is microneedling with very little plasma. When comparing the vampire facial cost between clinics, ask how the PRP is prepared, whether microneedling is included, how many sessions are planned and who performs the treatment.
Is a PRP facial safe?
Because PRP comes from your own blood, allergic reactions are very unlikely. Redness, swelling, tenderness and a feeling of tightness are expected for one to three days, more after microneedling than after injections. Bruising is common with injections, especially under the eyes, and can take a week or so to fade.
Less common problems include infection, a flare of cold sores in people prone to them, and temporary darkening of the skin, which is more of a risk in Indian skin types if the skin is inflamed or exposed to sun afterwards. Some people feel light-headed during the blood draw.
Results are modest and build slowly over several weeks after each session. Not everyone responds to the same degree, which is discussed honestly before starting.
PRP is usually postponed or avoided with low platelet counts or other blood disorders, blood-thinning medicines that cannot safely be paused, active skin infection or cold sores, pregnancy and breastfeeding, cancer under treatment, and within several months of isotretinoin when microneedling is planned.
Before and after your PRP facial
Before
- Eat a normal meal and drink water on the day, which makes the blood draw easier.
- Avoid aspirin, ibuprofen and fish oil for a few days unless a doctor has prescribed them.
- Stop retinoids and exfoliating acids a few days before, as advised.
- Tell the clinic about blood thinners, blood disorders and any history of cold sores.
After
- Use only a gentle cleanser, a plain moisturiser and sunscreen for the first 24 to 48 hours.
- Skip makeup for 24 hours and avoid heat, saunas, swimming and heavy exercise for 48 hours.
- Keep out of strong sun and apply sunscreen daily to reduce the risk of dark marks.
- Restart retinoids and acids only when the skin has fully settled, usually after about a week.
PRP planned by a dermatologist
Many things are sold as a glow treatment, and PRP is only the right one for some people. A dermatologist can tell whether dullness comes from pigmentation, acne, dehydration or ageing, choose between PRP, PRF, peels and other options accordingly, and set expectations that match what the evidence actually supports.

PRP facial FAQs
What is the difference between a PRP facial and a vampire facial?
They usually mean the same thing. “Vampire facial” is the popular name for PRP combined with microneedling, where the plasma is applied to the skin and worked in through tiny channels. “PRP facial” can also include PRP given by fine injections. The blood is always processed first; only the platelet-rich plasma is used.
How many PRP facial sessions will I need?
A course of about three sessions, roughly four weeks apart, is common, though the right number depends on your skin and goal. Results build gradually, and some people choose a maintenance session every six to twelve months. Dr. Tanya reviews your progress before each session rather than committing you to a fixed number.
How much does a PRP facial cost per session?
A PRP facial is priced per session, and the per-session price depends on the areas treated and the delivery method. Because most people need a course of about three sessions, the clinic quotes the full course in writing after the Rs 1,800 consultation, so you can compare the total rather than a single session.
When will I see results from PRP for the face?
Most people notice a fresher look once the redness settles, but the changes that matter, such as smoother texture and softer fine lines, develop over several weeks and after more than one session. The improvement is usually subtle. Anyone promising dramatic results from PRP alone is overselling it.
Does a PRP facial hurt?
A numbing cream is applied first, so most people describe a scratchy or prickling feeling rather than pain. Injections under the eyes can feel sharper for a moment. The blood draw feels like a routine blood test. Discomfort after treatment is usually mild and settles within a day or two.
Is PRP facial safe for Indian skin?
Yes, with care. The main concern in darker skin is temporary darkening after inflammation, so needling depth is kept appropriate, the skin is protected afterwards and sun exposure is avoided while it heals. People who tend to develop dark marks easily are told so at consultation and may be prepared with creams beforehand.
Can PRP treat dark circles or acne scars on its own?
Not usually. PRP may improve thin, crepey under-eye skin, but hollows and pigment-related dark circles need other approaches. For acne scars, PRP is more useful as an add-on to microneedling, subcision or lasers. The cause is assessed first so that PRP is used where it adds something.
What is the vampire facial cost in Gurgaon?
The vampire facial cost at Le Dermaire depends on the number of sessions, the areas treated and whether PRP is delivered with microneedling, injections or both. The blood draw, preparation and numbing are part of the session price. You get a written quote for the full course after the Rs 1,800 consultation, with no extras added later.
How long do vampire facial results last?
The early glow fades over a couple of weeks, but improvements in texture and fine lines from new collagen usually last many months. How long depends on age, sun exposure, smoking and skin care. Many people keep results with a maintenance session every six to twelve months and daily sunscreen.
Is a vampire facial worth it?
It can be, for the right concern. People with dull skin, rough texture or early fine lines often see a gradual, natural-looking improvement over a course. It is not worth it for deep folds, sagging or melasma, which need other treatment. Dr. Tanya will tell you at consultation if another option would serve you better.
